Gotham City est une localisation présente dans l'Arkhamverse.

Gotham City a une architecture gothique donnant un atmosphère terrifiante. Elle est également sombre.

Histoire[]

Passé[]

La ville est refaite par Cyrus Pinkney au dix-neuvième siècle. Il côtoie des personnes tels que les ancêtres de Bruce Wayne et Oswald Cobblepot mais également Amadeus Arkham. Avec ce dernier, il travaille sur un asile dans lequel Amadeus finit par être interné.

Après une formation aux arts martiaux, Bruce Wayne endosse le rôle de protecteur de la ville.

Dès ses premiers temps en tant que tel, il enquête sur les différents gros bonnets de la ville^[1] et, le soir de Noël, il est confronté à un nouvel ennemi, le Joker^[2].

Quatre mois plus tard, la prison de Blackgate subie une émeute, nécessitant l'intervention, sur demande du commissaire James Gordon, de Batman.^[3]

Six mois plus tard, l'asile d'Arkham, fermé depuis plusieurs années, est rouvert par Quincy Sharp.^[3]

Le 4 juillet, la ville est attaquée par Ratcatcher.^[4]

Plus tard, Batman recueille le nouvellement orphelin, Dick Grayson qui devient Robin^[5]. Peu après, c'est Barbara Gordon, la fille du commissaire, qui devient une alliée du Chevalier noir^[6].

Dick finit par devenir Nightwing et part pour Blüdhaven. Batgirl affronte Harley Quinn^[7].

Jason Todd devient le deuxième Robin mais peu après, il est capturé et torturé par le Joker avant d'être "tué".

Tim Drake devient le troisième Robin. Avec Batgirl, ils empêchent le Joker et Harley de tuer le père de cette dernière.^[8]

Le Joker attaque la fille de Gordon, la paralysant. Elle devient Oracle.^[9]

Le Joker attaque la mairie et se laisse volontairement appréhender par Batman. Ramené à l'asile d'Arkham, il prend le contrôle sous les yeux de Batman. Ce dernier met un terme à la fête.^[9]

Arkham City va être ouverte, Batman investigue dessus ainsi que sur Hugo Strange.^[10]^[11]
